If you are unsure what to bring, here is a handy list of ideas!

Besides the items you’d like to sell, you should bring:

A fold-up table.

A tablecloth adds a touch of class and allows your wares to be better displayed.

A small canopy (gazebo) protects you from sunburn, drizzle, and also offers handy space to display some of your products.
2x2m works best as that fits into your parking space, while too large canopies invades your neighbour’s space and will cause problems.

Weights and rope to hold down your canopy is essential.

Clothing stand for any items of clothing you’d like to sell. Remember weights for these too.

A tarp for the ground, sometimes an early morning drizzle left the soil damp.

A plastic to cover your wares should a typical 5 minute Mauritian drizzle interrupt the sales.

Camping chairs for a welcome break between sales.

Display items, like bins, props, rope, boxes, dummies (ideal for t-shirts)

Small change

Carry bags to give to your buyers

Printed prices / Price tags

Printed juice number or if you own a small business – show your brand identity.

Decor – especially if you are a small business and only sell one product. Decor will add visual interest and make your stand spectacular!

A marker, paper, pen, scissors and a pocket calcultor are handy items to throw in a bag.

A cloth or two to wipe away any spills, damp or dust, it is a parking area after all.

A friendly and patient approach to the day will carry you through the waves of busyness and quiet, typical of all markets.

Your smile to keep your clients happy!
