A car boot sale is a pop-up market held regularly at a specific pre-arranged place.
How it works is that you load all the stuff you want to sell in the boot of your car.
You then drive to the arranged place, open the boot and sell your stuff.
Since a lot of work goes into the event, promoting, advertising and marketing it, you have to register that you will attend long before the market.
You also have to pay for being there, as your fee will cover the expenses of promoting the event.
Many people bring a fold-up table in their car, and unpack from the boot onto the table.
Some people also bring gazebos (chapiteau) for protection against the sun and rain.
Since a car boot sale will always be held in a parking area, having this extra cover and shade is highly recommended.
